Excursion dedicated to those who do not want to spend too much time on the boat, it lasts only 3 hours, you can choose whether to do the morning one from 11 to 14 or from 14.15 to 17.15.
The excursion starts from the old port of Fira, reachable either on foot following the old mule track, or by donkey or more comfortably with the chairlift, the latter, like the donkeys, costs 6 euros each way.
These excursions are carried out with traditional Greek-Turkish boats called Caicchi, real wooden schooners, very well maintained.
The first break is on the island of Nea Kameni, also known as the active volcano, where the guide will accompany you to the top where the active area is located, with fumaroles and solfataras. This break lasts about 75 minutes, then you return to the boat and continue towards the island of Palia Kameni, where you stop in the bay of San Nicola, for those wishing to swim to the thermal waters. Finally we return to the port of departure where the excursion ends.
